Policy-Based Cloud Security Governance Using Smart Contracts
Abstract
Enforcing consistent security policies across multi-cloud environments remains a challenge due to varying provider-specific configurations and compliance requirements. This paper proposes a policy-based cloud security governance framework using blockchain-based smart contracts. The framework encodes security policies into smart contracts, which are automatically enforced across different cloud platforms. The contracts define access controls, data retention rules, and incident response protocols. The system’s effectiveness is evaluated through a multi-cloud deployment, showing improved policy consistency and reduced administrative overhead. The study concludes that smart contract-based governance enhances transparency, automation, and compliance in cloud security management.
